Asia Cup 2022: When and where do the qualifiers start?
The top team from the qualifiers will advance to the T20 Asia Cup main event, joining India and Pakistan in Group A
DUBAI: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) today announced the qualifying schedule for the Asia Cup 2022 to be held in Oman from August 20.
In the opening match, Singapore will face Hong Kong on August 20. The other two teams participating in the qualifiers are the UAE and Kuwait.
The matches will be played at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al Amerat.
The top team from the qualifiers will advance to the T20 Asia Cup main event, joining India and Pakistan in Group A.
In a statement, Pankaj Khimji, Chairman of Oman Cricket and Vice President of the ACC said, “We are truly grateful to have been chosen as the hosts to host the 2022 Asian Cup Qualifiers. We assure Oman that they will be at the peak of their hospitality. and its facilities for all teams in the qualifiers. We also sincerely thank the ACC and SLC for choosing Oman as the venue for the ACC Qualifying event.
The main event will begin on August 27 when hosts Sri Lanka take on Afghanistan. India and Pakistan will face off in a high-octane clash on August 28 in Dubai.
Sharjah is the next place where the Asian event will be held until September 11.
