Population In Pakistan 2022
According to current population estimates, Pakistan will reach its peak population in 2092 at 404.68 million people.
Between 1998 and 2017, the average population growth rate in Pakistan was 2.40%. In a population of over 220 million, this is an increase of about 5.28 million people per year.
Pakistan has one of the highest birth rates - 22 births per 1000 people. Very few women use any type of contraception in Pakistan, and a growing population can put too much pressure on water and sanitation systems, leaving millions unemployed and overwhelming health and education systems.
Population growth in Pakistan:
Since the country became a sovereign state in 1947, Pakistan's population has grown significantly, mainly as more and more people have felt comfortable moving their families and businesses to the area. Compared to other countries in the region, Pakistan's growth rate is about 2.1 percent higher. It is estimated that in about 35 years, if this growth continues, Pakistan's population will eventually double from what it was in 2001.
Population Projections of Pakistan:
Pakistan's current growth rate is close to 2%, but is expected to halve to less than 1% by 2050 - at which point it is projected to cross the 300 million mark. The population is predicted to be almost 210 million in 2020 and 245 million in 2030.
